Welcome
Coordinator's Message
As I finish this school year, I am feeling a mixture of gratitude, pride, humility, and hope. Gratitude for the incredible students, teachers, counselors, support staff, and families who make Jose Valdez High School such a special place. Every success story, every graduate who overcame obstacles, and every student who chose to keep moving forward reminds me why this work matters. I am proud of what we accomplished together. This year was filled with challenges, but it was also filled with growth, resilience, and moments that reminded me that education is ultimately about people. Watching our students walk across the graduation stage and celebrating their achievements reaffirmed the importance of creating a school culture where every student feels seen, valued, and capable of success. At the same time, I finish the year with humility. Leadership is a constant journey of learning. There were moments when urgent situations demanded immediate attention, and I know there are times I could have been more present, more patient, or more intentional. Those reflections motivate me to continue growing as a leader. Most of all, I am finishing this year with hope. Hope because I have witnessed firsthand the power of relationships, compassion, and high expectations. Hope because I see a staff that genuinely cares for students and works tirelessly on their behalf. Hope because our students continue to prove that their circumstances do not define their futures. This year reminded me that leadership is not about control or compliance—it is about connection, service, and creating conditions where people can thrive. As I look ahead, I remain committed to leading with humanity, listening with intention, and ensuring that every Falcon knows they belong and have a bright future ahead. I am emotionally finishing this school year tired, but fulfilled; challenged, but inspired; and deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing school community. Hopeful and Happy, Ms. Aida Ponce
