Congratulations to 18 LISD High School students who were named the recipients of the Legacy Scholarship for Webb County offered through the San Antonio Area Foundation. The scholars include from the Dr. Dennis D. Cantu Early College High School Esmeralda Gonzalez, Albeza Carrizales, Ricardo Gallardo, and Azul Amaro;
from Cigarroa High School, is Juan Solis; from Garcia Early College High School Caleb Benavides, Nirali Davila, Mia Mejia, Alberto Vargas; from Nixon High School Lyndaney Garcia, Dalid Najera, Kimberly Gonzalez, Vanessa Alba, Sophia Sandoval, Briana Gonzalez, Daniel Valdez, and Axel Lopez; and from Martin High School Johanna Barrera.

Laredo ISD will have an early release for all students on Friday, April 18. Additionally, there will be no classes on Monday, April 21, due to Staff Development. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 22.

Congratulations to 13 LISD High School students who attended the Kazen Fellowship Press Conference, and were surprised when it was announced that they have been admitted to the 2025 Kazen Fellowship Program this upcoming summer.

Students from Garcia Early College High School had the opportunity to visit the Children's Advocacy Center for a tour.


GECHS students wash the Driver's Ed car. The primary objective of a driver's education course is to impart safe driving practices and road regulations. However, Mr. Roycroft and Ms. Gaona enhanced the curriculum by incorporating lessons on vehicle maintenance and care, providing students with a more comprehensive understanding of responsible vehicle ownership. #PhoenixPride #DrED










Students from across the district participated in the 9th Annual Region One Student by Student Conference on Friday, April 4. Congratulations to our own students, Zenaida Zepeda and Emily Uribe, who were presenters at the conference.
